Educational path
LM-Physics is a two-years program (4 semesters) based on a high-quality training on the most modern topics in physics as well as the development of a professional attitude in problem solving.
Students will acquire a robust knowledge in modern physics with the opportunity to focus on fundamental interactions, physics of matter, nuclear physics, biophysics, nanoscience and quantum computing.
Theoretical physics courses, including quantum and statistical mechanics and numerical methods for physics are proposed to boost candidates towards the most exciting and challenging research hot topics in this field.
Experimental physics courses including laboratory activities, courses in computer calculation techniques and advanced data analysis open the door to whom are inspired by the new frontiers of both experimental and applied physics and relative modeling and simulations.
At the end of the LM-Physics, the candidate will be provided with the Master degree in Physics, without any profile or curriculum specification.
The Study Plan can be tailored to provide a Physicist’s profile fitting to the candidate expectations.
Three main curricula have already been established and are automatically approved:
- Physics of the Fundamental Interactions
- Physics of Matter
- Interdisciplinary Physics
The curriculum in Nuclear Physics is held within the ERASMUS plus program, in collaboration with the most advanced and qualified Institution leader in this topic such as the Universities of Caen and Seville. Please refer to the following link for more information: http://www.emm-nucphys.eu
Other curricula are positively evaluated by the Study Plan Commission if coherent with the LM-Physics degree.
Interdisciplinarity is granted by a deep connection with other LM-degrees such as:
- Material Sciences
- Math applied to Physics
- Physics of Data
in order promote cross-fertilization between disciplines.
Students can include in their Study Plan courses of these LM-degrees depending on the chosen training path in Physics.
The Study plan Commission is in charge to verify the coherence of the chosen exams with the Physics professional profile.
